This year, the 8th annual Healthy & Fit Magazine Expo will have a theme: Family Fun & Fitness.
It’s our goal to bring as many families and children to the expo to take part in what’s become one of the best expos on the area. Due to the large number of free activities available for children, we encourage any and all families to make time to check out the event.
The expo will take place Saturday, September 20, 2014, again in the Lansing Center located in the heart of Michigan’s capital with a fantastic view of the capitol building. Offering free admission, the expo offers something for everyone
- It is a family-friendly destination. The Sohn Kids’ Races – a one mile run and a 100 yard sprint – will take place on Saturday, with the start at the front door of the Lansing Center/Expo. Families register their kids, a group kids’ stretch is offered inside the expo, and families return to the expo for the day after the races. Kids love the expo, where they find an inflated Tiki-head rockwall, and destinations like a bouncy house, inflated obstacle course, an enclosed activity area with basketball hoops, floor hockey, jump ropes and hula hoops. The expo has offered a bike obstacle course and other games for the kids. So much to do, and so little time!
- Runners love the expo. Participants in the Impression 5 Half Marathon and Cooley Race for Education 5K – events that are staged outside the Lansing Center on Sunday – WILL register early/pick up their race bibs and T-shirts for Sunday’s races, at the expo. Playmakers and other athlete-focused vendors are at the expo, and draw the race participants through the expo aisles during the day.
- The general public loves the expo. Imagine having the area’s premiere businesses and experts gathered in one location, on a Saturday, waiting to speak one-on-one with you about the latest services and products that compliment a healthy and fit lifestyle.
- There is a demonstration stage in the center of the hall, with an audience participation area surrounding it. Every half hour, a vendor will bring a class with an emcee to the stage. Past offerings have included NIA (non-impact aerobics), Zumba, Turbokick, Cardio Dance, P90X, Kettlebells. Gyrotonic & Gyrokinesis Training, Square Dancing, X-Fit Class, Zumba Senato, functional Body Weight Movements, Gymnastics, Fencing, Kick Boxing, Belly Dancing, and more. Sound good? It’s free, and the public is invited to participate!
Last year, close to 4,000 people attended the expo. This year, make sure you are where the action is! Join us at the expo for a free, fun, great day!
